Chiado

Portuguese Soul through the streets of Lisbon

Walking Tour

A walking tour through the heart of

Lisbon

I am passionate about Portugal. As a Portuguese, I love everything Portuguese: history, culture, food, art, architecture, and much more! During the COVID pandemic, I missed the charm of the streets of Lisbon, the daily life, walking through different neighborhoods, and interacting with the local commerce. That’s why I decided to create a walking tour of Lisbon, focused exclusively on my beloved Chiado.

Chiado is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon. Familiar with the quote “Chiado is not Lisbon, Lisbon is not the country, but the truth is that to know the country, you must know Lisbon, and to know Lisbon, you must know Chiado,” by Eng. José Sousa Gomes, I immediately knew that my tour had to focus on Chiado.

Chiado has always been the heart of Lisbon. It is its intellectual center and a meeting point for artists, writers, politicians, thinkers, journalists, and, to this day, it continues to be a hub of cultural life and a place of artistic enjoyment with its theaters, museums, cafés, and century-old bookstores. As one of the most prestigious historical areas of Lisbon, Chiado blends a sophisticated atmosphere with a lively artistic joy.

“Chiado is a value that is part of the history of Portugal today.”
Prof. José Hermano Saraiva

Come and take the tour and discover Chiado.

The tour through Chiado.

Throughout the tour, I bring to life the rich history and beautiful stories of Chiado.

In addition to the neighborhood itself, the tour focuses on the culture and historical identity of Portugal.

At the end, you will feel the essence of the country and its incredible creativity and artistic spirit.

I am proud of my country and my people, and I am sure you will also fall in love with the richness and beauty of Portuguese culture and gain a deeper understanding of its over 800 years of diverse and complex history.

After the tour

Now that you’ve learned a bit about Chiado, Lisbon, and Portugal, you’re surely going to want more!

After the tour, I can send you an e-book so you can discover other important details that were not covered during the Chiado walk. I’ll also include more information about Portuguese culture, along with some examples to guide you in your exploration.

It’s another opportunity to revisit Chiado and explore the historic streets of Lisbon.

O que as pessoas dizem sobre o percurso

Combining various types of information — architecture, art and history — made for a more informative.
The mix of humor, charm, the use of print and audio, it made the tour so interactive.

The interesting information and photos that were used to explain various periods in history and the artistic motifs was so helpful!  I learned a lot!

Lucia is a great guide!  I loved it. Would like to do more tours like this around Lisboa!

Lucia was lovely, knowledgeable and kept the tour at a manageable pace.

I am so thankful to Lucia for her appreciation and passion for everything Portugal!

A little about me

I am a real estate consultant at The Agency in Lisbon and a trusted authority in the real estate market in Portugal. I work in Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Setúbal, and other regions of Portugal. With skills in management, mediation, and negotiation, I stand out in the real estate sector by focusing on solutions, always providing attentive support, and ensuring continuous communication with clients. My knowledge of Portugal and extensive experience with international clients allow me to offer unparalleled service.

By working with clients, offering advice, and exploring what may be best to achieve each person’s personal goals, I bridge cultures, providing a smoother transition.

In addition to all of this, I am the mother of four boys, a vegetarian chef (some say), I practice yoga, and I row on the Tagus River. I also regularly create and coordinate events for expatriates, locals, and Women in the Arts. I build connections and relationships between Portuguese people and those who choose Portugal as their new home. While learning from all of my clients, I am grateful for the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
